About
"Blue House Interior" was born when I (Egberth) decided to quit my career in real estate in Amsterdam in 2020. After years of matching clients to houses and houses to clients with great pleasure, it was time to give my creative aspirations light and space. I discovered an old craft, making lamps and lampshades.
Ever since I was a child, I have scoured markets at home and abroad to discover special objects. There was always a lot of blue and white porcelain, and 'blue' became my favourite colour for a long time.
From 2020 onwards, like many others, I spend a lot of time at home. I dive into my own collection and suddenly see possibilities for making new objects. I transform antique vases into beautiful lamp bases and combine them with very special lampshades. My first pieces are still conservative, but soon I let myself be led by the shape of the foot and the appearance of the object. They become contemporary combinations of classic and modern. Surprising results arise when I use colourful, high-quality fabrics for the lampshades. Blue remains a favourite, but is no longer the only colour. Each and every one of them becomes a unique piece and I get a taste for this fascinating craft and decide to immerse myself further in it. My new profession requires practice and patience, it is quite precise work, but everything comes together for me, interior and styling, craft and giving a new meaning to objects that have already had a life.
Meanwhile, there is an extensive "radiant" collection for sale. Let it be an atmospheric showpiece that catches your eye or perhaps you will choose a contemporary design. You can express your interest by contacting me at info@bluehouseinterior.nl
